Established in 2017 by myself Jay Hall, I offer outstanding workmanship and attention to detail to any project.
I have a background in engineering, welding and education and have been fortunate enough to combine this experience with the passion I have for the ancient art of blacksmithing and transform it in to my business and career.
I completed with distinction, the Design and Forgework Skills course at the National School of Blacksmithing in Hereford and was awarded The Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths Stanly Alcard Memorial trophy.
I’m always available to discuss projects or commissions large or small, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

About Soulful Iron / Mike Gracia

I’m an artist blacksmith based in Wales (just over the bridge from Bristol). I trained in Blacksmithing at the National Blacksmithing College in Hereford in the late 1990’s and after a long break from Blacksmithing, have now returned to the craft.

I call my business ‘Soulful Iron’ as I believe every piece a Blacksmith creates by hand has an element of their soul that they put into their work.

I use traditional blacksmithing techniques to create both works of art and functional products, be that candlesticks or fireside pokers, ornate forged steel bowls or pattern-welded knives (often called Damascus knives).

Check my small online shop to discover my past and current pieces and prices, from hand forged christmas decorations, to hand forged presents and hand forged viking jewellery, and enter link description here

Back in 1997 is where Art Fabrications began. Company Director/Founder Andrew Langley studied Fine Art at college and University and found his passion for working with metal. After working on Sculptures in London he decided to take the leap and start his own business back home in the Midlands.

His hardwork, attention to detail, and determination to be the best in the business has seen the business grow over the years.

As an artist Andy and the Art Fabs team are passionate about delivering work of superior quality, which is demonstrated in their portfolio of works across the world.

Drawing is fundamental to my art.

I want my work to entertain in the same way that music does, to make the metal dance. It’s about communicating – it’s joyous. I like to think I can show people another world.
I originally studied painting at Chelsea College of Art but started making sculptures twenty years ago, when I discovered the combination of strength and malleability of metal when heated. Drawings quickly become forms.
The images that I portray tend to be derived from the natural world or from classical and mythological sources, but I’m also very interested in the mechanics of things, practical technology, and my most recent pieces sometimes include a kinetic aspect. The school gates I designed and built in Brighton as a public art commission demonstrate a marriage of artistic and technical abilities.
As well as fine art sculpture I produce bespoke metalwork, public commissions, and furniture. I also conduct art workshops for schools, colleges and teachers.

Hot forging is at the core of what I do at Bringsty. I will design and make items to commission, for galleries, exhibitions and demonstrations. I will also repair and restore existing and historical ironwork, and make items to a client’s specification. The process of producing bespoke ironwork to suit the site and client is what I enjoy. Taking a client’s vision for an empty space, and realising their vision by guiding them through the possibilities and practicalities that hot forging, traditional and contemporary techniques can bring to items of originality and longevity.

Allen Court Arch by Lucy Quinnell and Adam Boydell
Rowhurst Forge, Oxshott Road, Leatherhead, Surrey KT22 0EN

Located where BABA was founded in 1978, Fire and Iron is a major gallery and workshop specialising in forged ironwork and associated metal crafts. Representing more than 100 leading British and international blacksmiths, jewellers and other artists using metal as their chosen medium, Fire and Iron was founded in the early 1980s in response to the global resurgence of interest in forged iron as a creative medium. Owned and run by Lucy Quinnell, who grew up in a blacksmithing family and is the current editor of Artist Blacksmith magazine, Fire and Iron encourages high standards in art metalworking and attracts buyers and commissioners from all over the world. Lucy is married to blacksmith Adam Boydell, and together they design and create public artworks and private commissions. The couple also works in collaboration with other blacksmiths on some Fire and Iron commissions. Lucy won a gold medal for her first RHS garden at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show in 2008, and since then she has worked on five more RHS gardens. She lectures on the subject of blacksmithing, and has been featured talking about the subject on Woman’s Hour, the Craft Show, British Lifestyles (Japan), Blue Peter, Britain’s Best Home and Carlton Country.
