This businessis a self-made family concern operated by Paul and his son Ben. His work place is situated in the rural western ouskirts of the city of Coventry.
Paul fabricates and constructs industrial units and agricultural buildings to high specification.
All work is bespoke, to customer’s own design and requirements, at his forge workshops (prefabricating work) or on-site (final fix) as the work in hand demands.
Paul can advise on metal construction projects and has many former projects to his name in and around the city of Coventry.
Additionally Paul has an artistic bent and produces original heavy craft sculptures, which can be viewed and purchased at his premises.
Donkeywell Forge is a traditional blacksmiths forge on the outskirts of Cirencester, Gloucestershire. We produce traditional and contemporary ironwork working with all forms of metal including true wrought iron, mild steel, bronze, copper, stainless steel and corten. We have traditional coke fired forges along with large gas powered forges and power hammer facilities which allows us to specialise in the use and principles of heritage materials and styles including fire welding. This all sits alongside modern workshop facilities and machinery. We hope the pictures of the work on our website say more about us than pages of text as we would rather be making than writing about it! If you would like to talk to us regarding any future projects please do not hesitate to get in touch.
We opened in June 2010, Designing, Creating and Teaching, We strive to take your ideas for your home and garden and make them a reality, by breathing life in to iron through the ancient art and craft of traditional blacksmithing.
We are a small family owned company. Our small but well kitted out workshop is in Loanhead, on the outskirts of Edinburgh.

After a short sabbatical, he moved in to the offshore industry and specialized in the unique art of underwater welding and inspection, gaining coding and certifications by ASNT, AWS & CSWIP. Firebird Forge is a full working forge which offers traditional and contemporarily designed commissions in various metals; as well as the usual restoration and repair work. The forge is also run, by appointment, as a teaching school in traditional blacksmithing techniques. Although the forge is open to the general public to allow them to come and learn how to blacksmith on a day to day basis, further training is also given to younger smiths in the form of work placements from college.
Individuals from as far as Russia and Australia have come to learn to forge at the school and the owner, David Mortimer (Mort the Blacksmith), has carried out commissions across the Uk since the year 2000.

Designer and maker of forged or fabricated steel gates, railings and bespoke work.
I’m a hobby blacksmith operating from my home built coal forge in my back yard. I’ve been smithing for only a few weeks, at weekends only (winter nights and no lighting in my yard). I’ve made a number of hot and cold hand tools, my first blade as well as a range of viking inspired jewelry.
I’m looking to network with other local smith to share ideas and resources.
